NORMAL, Ill. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team led for more than half the game, but a late 18-2 run by Illinois State gave the Redbirds a 75-65 victory in non-conference action Sunday afternoon at CEFCU Arena.
The Bison led 58-54 with 6:15 remaining before a 15-0 burst by Illinois State gave the Redbirds a 69-58 advantage with just under two minutes left.
Sophomore
Tajavis Miller led the Bison with 18 points, and junior
Andrew Morgan scored 15 for NDSU. Illinois State's Darius Burford led all players with 28 points.
NDSU used a 13-0 run in the first half to build a 10-point advantage. The Bison led 35-28 at halftime.
NDSU (7-5 overall) was in front for more than 23 minutes of the game.
Boden Skunberg and
Jacari White each grabbed seven rebounds.
The Bison will travel to Carbondale, Ill., to play Southern Illinois on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
