FARGO, N.D. – South Dakota's Kaleb Stewart scored 33 points to lead the Coyotes to a 75-66 victory over the North Dakota State men's basketball team on Friday night. It was the Summit League opener for both schools.

The Coyotes shot 49 percent for the game, and NDSU made just 40 percent of its shots. The Bison were 9-of-30 from three-point range and only 3-of-3 at the free throw line.

Andrew Morgan scored a season-high 19 points on 9-of-12 shooting to lead the Bison. Redshirt freshman
Noah Feddersen added 13 points, and senior
Boden Skunberg finished with 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Bison went up by 10 early at 19-9 just over five minutes into the contest. South Dakota countered with a 20-7 run to go ahead 29-26, and the Coyotes led 40-34 at halftime.

NDSU (7-7 overall, 0-1 Summit) battled back to tie the game at 46-46 following back-to-back three-pointers by Feddersen and Skunberg. Stewart strung together a personal 8-0 run to give the Coyotes the next eight points, and USD maintained a lead of at least three points for the rest of the game.

Jacari White recorded a career-high four steals for NDSU.

NDSU will step out of conference play for the Big Sky – Summit League Challenge next week, hosting Montana on Wednesday, Jan. 3, and traveling to Eastern Washington on Saturday, Jan. 6.
