FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State men's track & field team is ranked second in the shot put and sixth in the hammer throw in the latest outdoor event squad rankings released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) this week.
The event squad rankings rank every Division I team within each single event, averaging the best performances from the top four athletes at each school in each event.
In the shot put,
Trevor Otterdahl,
Cam Landis,
Clayton Hannula and
Kaden Pastian rank No. 2 in the country with an average mark of 60-04.50 (18.40m) this season. All four Bison men have surpassed 58-8 in the shot put, while no other school in the nation has four men beyond even 57 feet this season.
NDSU stands as the sixth-best squad in the hammer throw, with Otterdahl,
Tristan Bush,
Levi Rockey and Pastian averaging 204-8 (62.39m) for a season-best mark this year.
The Bison are also No. 16 in the event squad rankings for both the 400m hurdles and the discus.
