ST. PAUL, Minn. – North Dakota State softball picked up a 6-2 victory over St. Thomas on Monday to complete a series sweep of the Tommies in Summit League play.
Tied 2-2,
Bella Dean hit an RBI single in the fifth to put the Bison in front for good. The freshman added three more runs in the seventh with her team-leading eighth home run of the season.
Dean was one of three Bison with two hits in the game.
Emilee Buringa and
Anjolee Aguilar-Beaucage also had two hits each. The duo both scored on Dean's three-run home run.
In the circle,
Lainey Lyle picked up the win in relief, as she tossed 4.1 scoreless innings, scattering four hits and three walks. She finished with two strikeouts to improve to 10-6 on the season.
Paige Vargas tossed the first 2.2 innings allowing two runs on five hits with five strikeouts.
Aguilar-Beaucage gave the Bison the lead in the third inning, as she hit her fifth home run of the season with a two-run shot to left center.
Chloe Woldruff, who led off the inning with a single, also scored on the play.

Carley Goetschius and
Reanna Rudd had the other hits for the Bison.
North Dakota State will return to action on Saturday, April 29, as the Bison open up the home schedule with a doubleheader against North Dakota. First pitch is set for noon at Tharaldson Park.
