OMAHA, Neb. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team played its second straight overtime contest on Saturday night, this time falling 96-92 at Omaha in Summit League play.

The Bison dropped to 8-10 overall and 1-2 in the league. Omaha improved to 10-9 overall and 3-1 in the Summit League.

Sophomore
Damari Wheeler-Thomas led the Bison with a career-high 30 points.
Andrew Morgan added 24 points, and
Boden Skunberg finished with 18 for NDSU.

Jacari White put up 15 points, six rebounds, and a career-high six assists.

NDSU led by nine at 66-57 with just over 11 minutes remaining, but Omaha scored the next eight points to cut into the margin. When the Bison pushed the lead back to 75-68, the Mavericks answered with a 10-2 run to take the lead with 3:30 left.

The game went to overtime tied at 82-82. Omaha drained a pair of three-pointers and went 6-for-6 at the free throw line in overtime to win the game.

NDSU shot 57 percent for the game and made 11-of-24 (46 percent) from beyond the arc. Omaha shot 53 percent overall and went 8-of-17 (47 percent) from three-point range.

NDSU led for 24 minutes in a contest that featured 10 lead changes and eight ties.

The Bison will return home to host Denver on Thursday, Jan. 18, and Oral Roberts on Saturday, Jan. 20.
