NDSU Volleyball Falls at Denver

DENVER – The North Dakota State volleyball team fell short at Denver, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon.

Ali Hinze paced the Bison (10-11, 6-6 Summit) with 13 kills, seven digs and two service aces, while Arianna Blohm connected on nine kills with a .643 hitting percentage. Maddy Dombeck added in 15 assists with six digs and Logan O'Brien tallied a team-best 12 digs with three assists.

Denver (10-12, 5-7 Summit) used a .424 hitting percentage in the opening set to steal a 17-12 lead with back-to-back kills from Cassie Davis. The Pioneers went on to win the set, 25-18. Denver followed it up in the second frame with a .414 hitting percentage to grab a 14-8 edge with a kill from Molly Mirabelli. The Pioneers held off NDSU the rest of the way to win the second frame, 25-21.

Denver then began to put the match away building a 13-5 advantage in the third frame with a kill from Jamia Johnson. Denver, who recorded at least a .300 hitting percentage in all three sets, went on to close out the set, 25-17, and the match, 3-0.

NDSU will be back in action hosting South Dakota on Thursday. First serve is set for 5:30 p.m., at Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse.
