Three-Point Shooting Keys NDSU Women’s Basketball Win at Charleston, 72-59

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The North Dakota State women's basketball team tied a season-high 10 three-pointers to help pick up a 72-59 win over the College of Charleston at TD Arena on Sunday afternoon.

Molly Lenz sparked the Bison (4-3) with 14 points in the first half on 4-of-7 shooting from three. She went on to finish with a career-high 17 points with two rebounds and one steal. Abbie Draper also tied a career-high 13 rebounds to go along with nine points. Marisa Frost rounded out the top performers providing 11 points on 8-of-8 shooting from the free throw line off the bench.

As a team, NDSU shot 45.8 percent (22-48) from the field and 85.7 percent (18-21) from the free throw line. The Bison also shot 45.5 percent (10-22) from three with five different players connecting on at least one.

After opening up a six-point lead at the intermission, 31-25, NDSU started the second half hitting its first four triples to stretch its lead to 50-32 with a three-pointer from Abby Krzewinski at the 5:34 mark. The Bison, who outscored the Cougars (5-1), 30-18, in the frame, pushed their lead up to 59-36 following a three-pointer from Marisa Frost with 1:16 on the clock. NDSU went on to hold off Charleston the rest of the way to secure the 72-59 win.

NDSU will be back in action hosting Montana in the Big Sky-Summit League Challenge on Wednesday. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m., at Scheels Center.
