Box Score 2 COLLEGE STATION, Texas – North Dakota State softball fell to Kansas and No. 18 Texas A&M on Saturday at the Davis Diamond in the Texas A&M Invitational. The Bison fell to the Jayhawks 8-3, before dropping a 10-0 decision to the Aggies.
In game one, Kansas jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Bison would answer as
Reanna Rudd hit a two-out RBI single to score
Taylinn Warren in the bottom half of the inning.
However, Kansas would capitalize on an error and hit a two-run home run in the third and then added a run in the sixth three in the seventh to go up 8-1.
Anjolee Aguilar-Beaucage would hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh, scoring Warren again to cap the offense for the Bison in the game.
Rudd and
Jasmyn Yessian finished with two hits each in the game. Warren had a hit and walked and scored both times she reached base.
Piper Reed picked up the loss in the game, giving up four runs, two earned, in two innings of work.
In game two, Texas A&M capitalized on an error to score two unearned runs in the first to take the lead. After a scoreless second, the Aggies would add four runs in the third on three home runs.
The Bison would threaten in the fourth, getting two on, but were unable to get a run across and the Aggies added four more runs in the bottom of the fourth on two more home runs.
Aguilar-Beaucage, Rudd, Yessian and
Ava Chavarria each had a hit for the Bison. Bowers finished with the loss, allowing six runs, four earned, in 2.2 innings of work.
NDSU will wrap up the Texas A&M Invitational on Sunday with a 9 a.m. game against Kansas.
