BATON ROUGE, La. - Six LSU pitchers combined on a three-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts and the No. 2-ranked Tigers beat North Dakota State 7-0 in college baseball Wednesday, March 13, before a crowd of 9,833 at Alex Box Stadium.

Garret Hill each singled for North Dakota State, which dropped to 3-13 with the loss. Six of those losses have come to Top 10 nationally ranked teams.
LSU (16-2) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning scoring a pair of unearned runs against NDSU starter
Matt Sargeant (0-1), the first of eight Bison pitchers in the game.
The Tigers added two more runs in the fifth on a Jared Jones RBI double and a Josh Pearson sacrifice fly. Mac Bingham cranked a two-run homer in the sixth for LSU.
North Dakota State is scheduled to open Summit League play against Omaha at 5 p.m. Friday, March 15, at Tal Anderson Field in Omaha, Neb. The Mavericks are 2-13 after a Tuesday night loss at Creighton.
