WAIPAHU, Hawaii – North Dakota State soccer fell to Grand Canyon 1-0 Thursday afternoon at Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Stadium, suffering its first defeat in 2024.
After the Bison (3-1-1) had the first chance with an
Amaya Garrett shot in the second minute, Grand Canyon (3-1-1) took the lead in the fourth minute with a goal from Ellie Crisler.
Morgan Russmann would have a couple shots for the Bison and
Gabrielle Garrett had two late chances, including one blocked, but NDSU was unable to find an equalizer.
Payton Mulberry would make four saves in the game for the Bison. Grand Canyon finished with six corners to five for the Bison.
The loss snapped a five-game unbeaten run (4-0-1) for the Bison dating back to last season.
North Dakota State wraps up the three-game road trip to the Honolulu area with a match up against Hawaii on Saturday at Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. in Hawaii, 9 p.m. CT.
