FARGO, N.D. – St. Thomas drained 15 three-pointers to defeat the North Dakota State men's basketball team, 89-85, in the Summit League opener for both schools Thursday night.

There were 10 lead changes and eight ties in the contest.

The Bison made 13 three-pointers of their own – shooting 41 percent from beyond the arc – but the Tommies shot 54 percent overall and 47 percent from three-point range.

Jacksen Moni led NDSU with 25 points, four assists, and two blocks.
Brennan Watkins scored a season-high 18 points, and
Noah Feddersen posted 14 points and nine rebounds.

NDSU battled back from an early deficit to take a 69-65 lead with eight minutes remaining. St. Thomas answered with seven straight points. With NDSU up 78-76 and less than three minutes left, Drake Dobbs drilled a pair of crucial treys for the Tommies, putting St. Thomas ahead by three. UST made seven free throws in the final 30 seconds.

NDSU (11-5 overall, 0-1 Summit) pulled down 16 offensive rebounds but only converted 12 second-chance points.
