Polasek Named Finalist for Eddie Robinson Award

FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State's Tim Polasek was one of 15 coaches named finalists Monday, Nov. 24, for the Eddie Robinson Award, which is presented annually to the national coach of the year in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision.

The award, first presented in 1987 and now in its 39th season, is named for legendary Grambling State head coach Eddie Robinson. Former NDSU head coach Craig Bohl won the award twice in 2012 and 2013.

Polasek has guided North Dakota State to a 12-0 record and the No. 1 overall seed for the FCS playoffs. The Bison have defeated six ranked opponents and won their 12th Missouri Valley Football Conference championship.

Polasek enters the playoffs with a 26-2 record in two seasons as head coach at NDSU. He led the Bison to a 14-2 mark last year, a share of the conference title with a 7-1 record, and the program's 10th FCS national title.

The Eddie Robinson Award winner, selected by a national voting panel, will be announced on Dec. 4 and honored at the Stats Perform FCS National Awards Show on Jan. 3 in Nashville, Tenn.
