JONESBORO, Ark. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team saw its five-game winning streak snapped with an 85-80 overtime loss at Arkansas State on Friday afternoon.
Damari Wheeler-Thomas scored 28 points to lead the Bison.
The back-and-forth contest had 17 lead changes and 13 ties.
The Red Wolves led 39-35 at halftime. The game went to overtime tied 70-70 after NDSU missed a shot on the final possession.
Arkansas State went 8-for-8 at the free throw line in overtime to win the game. It was tied 76-76 with 1:15 left in OT before the Red Wolves scored five straight.
Noah Feddersen scored 12 points for NDSU.
Trevian Carson nearly posted a double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds.
Andy Stefonowicz tallied five assists.
NDSU fell to 5-3 on the season.
The Bison shot 39 percent overall for the contest and 40 percent (10-of-25) from three-point range.
The Bison will play next at Montana on Wednesday, Dec. 3, as part of the Big Sky-Summit Challenge.
