DAVIS, Calif. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team lost 80-68 to UC Davis on Wednesday evening at the University Credit Union Center, falling to 0-2 on the season.

NDSU led for nearly 17 minutes of the opening half, but the game was tied 26-26 at halftime after a late run by the Aggies.

UC Davis outscored the Bison 54-42 in the second half, shooting 68 percent over the final 20 minutes.

UC Davis shot 57 percent overall for the contest, topping NDSU's 37-percent shooting.

NDSU made just 3-of-27 (11 percent) from three-point range in the game. The Bison pulled down 20 offensive rebounds and forced 18 UC Davis turnovers.

Markhi Strickland led NDSU with 17 points and six rebounds. Senior
Tay Smith scored 11 for the Bison, and
Trevian Carson added nine points.

The Bison will return home to host CSU Northridge on Nov. 11 and St. Scholastica on Nov. 12 inside the Scheels Center.
