FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team exploded for a 31-4 run to put away South Dakota on Wednesday evening, winning 84-61 in the Summit League opener for both schools.

NDSU trailed 30-28 with 2:30 left in the first half before scoring the final 10 points of the half. The Bison opened the second half on a 21-4 run to go ahead 59-34 with just over 13 minutes remaining.

Sophomore forward
Treyson Anderson made his first career start and led the Bison with 14 points.
Trevian Carson finished with 13 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and five steals for NDSU. Senior
Tay Smith added 13 points off the bench, including three three-pointers in the first half.

The Bison forced 15 Coyote turnovers, committed only eight turnovers, and pulled down 12 offensive rebounds in the contest. NDSU shot 55 percent overall, including 68 percent in the second half.

The Bison (11-5, 1-0 Summit) will host Oral Roberts on Saturday, Jan. 3, with tip scheduled for 3 p.m. CT on CBS Sports Network.
