NDSU Baseball Drops Wednesday Midweek at No. 2 LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. – The North Dakota State baseball team fell short, 13-3, in seven innings at No. 2 LSU on Wednesday night at Alex Box Stadium in front of 10,446 fans.

The Tigers (13-1) pushed across seven runs on six hits in the first inning to make the score 7-0 after Derek Curiel sent a two-run single to center field. After Davis Hamilton scored on a wild pitch in the second, LSU cracked the game open adding four runs in the third to increase its lead to 11-1 with a three-run home run off the bat of Jared Jones. The Tigers went on to win the contest in seven innings, 13-3.

The Bison (1-11) notched four hits as a team with Hamilton contributing two runs and one hit.

Garrett Shupe (0-1) made his collegiate debut on the mound, while Leland Wilson finished out the final inning with a team-best two strikeouts over 2.0 innings.

NDSU will be back in action to begin a three-game series at Tulane on Friday. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
