BOSTON – The North Dakota State women's basketball team is slotted No. 5 in the final regular season College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 Poll, the organization announced this week.
After starting the season unranked, the Bison were positioned inside the poll for 15 straight weeks and climbed all the way to the No. 1 ranking for the first time in program history. The Bison held the top spot for four straight weeks and closed regular season play inside the top five for nine straight weeks.
The final College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 Poll will be announced on April 7.
The Mid-Major Poll is made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Coastal Athletic, Conference USA, Horizon, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast, Western Athletic.

The Bison earned a top seed in the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) and will host Chattanooga in the first round on Thursday. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m., inside the Scheels Center at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex.
