SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The North Dakota State women's track & field team led The Summit League with five student-athletes voted to the Academic All-League team for the 2026 indoor season.

Ella Gardner,
Kendra Mehrkens,
Jaelyn Miller and
Marvelous Onwualo all earned the honor by virtue of their athletic and academic achievements.

Berg (Valley City, N.D.) owns a 4.0 cumulative grade point average with a major in biological sciences. She anchored NDSU to third place in the distance medley relay and placed eighth in the mile at the Summit League Championships.

Gardner (Nora, Neb.) is a psychology major with a 4.0 GPA. She placed second in both the long jump and triple jump at the conference meet, earning Championships Field MVP.

Mehrkens (Thief River Falls, Minn.) has a 4.0 GPA majoring in exercise science. She took eighth in the 60m dash at the Summit League Championships.

Miller (Alexandria, Minn.) is majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology with a 4.0 GPA. She ran on NDSU's third-place distance medley relay and took 10th in the mile at the league meet.

Onwualo (Blaine, Minn.) owns a 4.0 GPA as a biological sciences major. She owned the fourth-fastest 60m hurdles time in the league this season and took seventh in the event at the Summit League Championships.

To be eligible for The Summit League Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 (on a 4.00 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions. The award is voted on by the institutions' faculty athletic representatives and sports information directors.
