Veteran player who gives the Bison quality depth...Sat out spring ball due to injury...Could be a versatile performer who may also play some guard...Possesses good athletic ability with good feet...2003 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Played six games for the Herd, starting four of the first five of the season...Helped lead the Bison running game to 159 yards per game...2002 SEASON (HARDSHIP): Missed the season after suffering a knee injury in spring drills that required surgery...Took a hardship rule...2001 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Member of the Bison grid team as a tight end but did not see any extending playing time...2000 SEASON (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season as a redshirt in the Bison grid program...HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Northern Cass High School where he was first team all-region and all-conference and first team all-state (9-man)...Most Valuable Player for his team after catching 42 passes for 800 yards and seven TDs as a senior...Finished with 74 career catches for 1,500 yards and 18 TDs...Also played basketball where he was first team all-conference, all-district, and the team MVP...Led his team in rebounding...PERSONAL: Majoring in hotel, motel and restaurant management...Enjoys playing video games and watching television in his spare moments...Family includes one younger sister and one younger brother...Son of Jeff and Carolyn Monson of Gardner.
