2009-10 SEASON

Cross Country (Freshman): Ran in six races...Posted an 8K personal best time of 26:33.7 at the Jim Drews Invitational...Came in 48^th at the Summit League Championships in 28:41.20...Finished 131^st at the 10K NCAA Midwest Regional in 34:51.9.

Indoor (Freshman): Won the 800 meters at both the Cobber Open and the Cobber Duals...Ran a best time of 1:57.35 at the Cobber Duals...Also ran the mile at three miles...Placed third at the Bison Open in a personal best time of 4:20.77.

Outdoor (Freshman): Competed in the 800 meters and 1,500 meters...Posted a personal best time of 1:54.42 in the 800 meters at the Duke Invitational...Placed sixth in the 1,500 at the Summit League Championships in personal best time of 3:55.74...Also placed 12^th in the 800 meters at the league championships.

2008-09 SEASON: Redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: Six-year letterwinner in cross country and track & field at Howard Lake-Waverly-Winstead High School...Two-time conference champion in cross country...Also a two-time participant at the Minnesota state cross country championships...Earned all-conference honors three times...Holds the school 5k cross country record...On the track, ran the 1600 and the 800...Four-time all-conference selection...Won three conference titles and participated in the state championships once...Holds school records in the 800, 1600 and 4x800 relay...Three-year letterwinner on the wrestling team...All-conference honoree.

PERSONAL: Son of Robert and Denise Merritt...Has two older sisters, Tanya and Anna...Majoring in environmental engineering.
