2008-09 (FRESHMAN): Went 7-13 overall and 1-7 in dual meets at 174 pounds...Finished fourth at the Bison Open with a record of 4-2.

2007-08 (REDSHIRT): Wrestled in four tournaments as an unattached wrestler at 165 and went 9-7...Notched one pin at the Kaufman-Brand Open...Finished third at the Dragon Open in the white division.

High School: Graduated from Greenbush-Middle River High School in 2007 where he wrestled for coach Todd Bergerson...Captured the 2007 state championship at 160 and was state runner-up at 145 in 2006...Finished with a 137-36 career record...Part of Minnesota Storm national runner-up team in 2005...Named to the academic all-state first team.

Personal: Majoring in business administration...Son of Richard and Kathleen Sovde...Has one sister, Samantha.
