Wrestled at 149 pounds, posting a record of 22-18 on the season ... competed in all 15 duals for NDSU with a final dual record of 6-9 ... two pins on the year ... recorded six major decisions ... went 5-1 at the Bison Open on Nov. 12 for third place ... went 2-2 at the Midlands Championships on Dec. 29-30 ... defeated Anthony Perrotti of No. 20 Rutgers 5-3 at the Virginia Duals on Jan. 14 ... went 2-2 at the NCAA West Regional, including a major decision over Ryan Jauch of Northern Iowa and an overtime decision over Justin Gonzalez of Northern Colorado, to finish third ... third team All-Western Wrestling Conference.
2010-11 SEASON (Sophomore)
Went 18-15 overall and 5-6 in dual meets...Started the season competing at 141 pounds...Finished third at the season-opening Warren Williamson/Daktronics Open...Moved up a weight class to 149 pounds at the beginning of 2011...Won his first three bouts at the new weight class...Finished fourth at the NCAA West Regional...Pinned by Josh Wilson of Utah Valley in the first round...Won a 6-4 decision over South Dakota State's Andrew Youngbloom and then a 12-11 decision over Josh Kreimier of Air Force...Eliminated by Northern Colorado's Justin Gaethje.
2009-10 SEASON (Freshman)
Posted a 10-7 record in four open tournaments...Tallied three pins...Placed third in the amateur division of the Kaufman-Brand Open with a 5-1 mark.
2008-09 SEASON (Redshirt)
Went 7-5 at 141 pounds as an unattached wrestler...Finished both the Bison Open and Kaufman/Brand Open Amateur with a 2-2 record...Came in second at the Dragon Open...Named to the Western Wrestling Conference Coaches' Honor Roll for academics.
HIGH SCHOOL
Four-year letterwinner at Roseau High School...Team captain as a senior...Set a school record for most pins in a season with 43...Four-time participant in the Minnesota state tournament...Finished sixth at the state tournament as a freshman and second as a junior...Won the USA Wrestling state freestyle championship in 2006 and was runner-up in the freestyle and Greco-Roman in 2007...Also participated in football and track...Set a school record in the 3,200-meter relay.
