Team captain and lone senior looking to qualify for NCAA’s in his final year...2005-06 (Junior): Went 8-7 overall, 7-5 in dual action...Injured his shoulder during the first round of the Bison Open but was back in action for every NDSU dual at 174 pounds...Had a four-match winning streak during the dual season...Won an exciting overtime match against Dwayne Hash-Barberis of American University in the final dual of the season...2004-05 (Sophomore): Wrestled in every tournament and dual meet for the Bison at 184...Went 21-8 overall, 11-3 in dual matches...Took runner-up at both the Daktronics Open and Bison Open...Picked up 50th career victory against Northern Colorado on Jan. 22, 2005...Finished the season strong, winning seven out of his last eight matches...2003-04 (Freshman): Everyday starter for the Herd who gained retribution after a knee injury knocked him out a year earlier...Finished the season with a 25-13 mark, going 8-5 in dual meets...Qualified for nationals with a third-place finish at the NCAA North Regional...Placed second at the national championships losing to top-ranked Tom Meester of Augustana (S.D.)...Was unranked heading into the nationals, but won three straight matches to get to the national final including a 4-2 overtime upset decision against Minnesota State-Moorhead’s Ryan Kopiasz...2002-03 (Hardship): Won five out of his first six career collegiate matches...Was 9-6 in tournament competition including a pair of opens...Suffered a knee injury in his third match at the St. Cloud State Invite that kept him sidelined the rest of the season...High School: Graduated from Burnsville High in 2002...Coached was Bill Soderholm...Four-time conference champion and three-time state placewinner including a runner-up sophomore finish in a record-setting career...Six-time letterwinner and team captain his last three years...School record holder for career wins with a 149-29 record...Had a school-record 81 career pins and was 45-3 with a school-record 289 takedowns as a senior...The 45 wins set the school record for most victories by a senior...Also set marks for the most wins by a junior (42) and most career takedowns (569)...Two-time member of the Minnesota USA freestyle team that placed high in the nation both years...Freestyle Cadet All-American in 1999...Also a two-time all-conference pick on the football field where he scored 18 career touchdowns at fullback...Personal: Majoring in business administration...Son of Jeff and Karen Hermann of Savage, Minn...Has a brother, Mike and a sister, Kristin.
