2018 SEASON (JUNIOR): Played in all 15 games as a fullback including four starts against North Alabama, Delaware, Illinois State and the national championship win over Eastern Washington...Did not carry or make a catch...Blocked for the No. 1 rushing attack in the MVFC averaging 286.2 yards per game (7th in FCS) and 6.4 yards per carry...The Bison also led the conference and were Top 10 in FCS for fewest tackles for loss allowed (3.60/game) and sacks allowed (0.8/game)...Made the MVFC Honor Roll for the fourth straight year...Earned the MVFC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award and President's Council Academic Award.

2017 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Appeared in all 15 games as a fullback including three starts against Youngstown State, South Dakota State and San Diego...Did not carry or make a catch, but was a key blocker for the top rushing and scoring team in the Missouri Valley Football Conference...NDSU averaged 272.2 rushing yards per game and 5.9 yards per carry...Named to the MVFC Honor Roll and earned the MVFC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award.

2016 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Played in eight games as a backup fullback...Named to the MVFC Honor Roll.

2015 SEASON (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season as a redshirt in the Bison program...Named to the MVFC Honor Roll.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated in 2015 from Frazee-Vergas High School...Four-year starter for the Hornets coached by Jim Rader...Primarily played linebacker and offensive line...Three-time all-conference honoree...Conference defensive MVP as a junior and linebacker of the year as a senior...Helped lead the Hornets to a 24-7 record over his final thee years including a 9-2 mark and Section 8AA runner-up finish in 2014...Set school records for tackles in a season and career...Also a state champion wrestler...Went 48-0 his senior year in winning the Class 1A heavyweight title.

PERSONAL: Graduated from NDSU in December 2018 with a bachelor's degree in business administration...Enrolled in the master's of business administration program at NDSU...Son of Jay and Judy Malstrom of Vergas, Minn...Has a younger sister, Faith.
