IN HIS CAREER: Took a redshirt year at NDSU in 2016...Has played in six career games, two in each of his first three years of eligibility...Appeared in the Butler and Western Illinois games as a junior in 2019...Two-time MVFC Honor Roll member.

HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year letterman and two-year starter for Brainerd under coach Ron Stolski...Played offensive line and defensive end...Totaled 70 tackles, four fumble recoveries and one interception over his final two seasons...2015 all-district honoree...Part of a Brainerd program that won five straight conference titles including a 12-1 section championship team in 2013 that advanced to the Class 5A state final...Offensive Player of the Year on the Brainerd hockey team with 17 goals and 12 assists his junior year...Also participated in baseball.

PERSONAL: Majoring in civil engineering...Son of Kelvin and LeAnn Howieson of Baxter, Minn...Both parents are NDSU graduates...Has an older brother, Mitch...Cousin of Joey Blackmore, a former NDSU defensive back and defensive assistant coach.
