Biography

2023 SEASON (SENIOR): Played in all 15 games...Made one tackle on kickoff coverage in the season-opener against Eastern Washington at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis...Caught one pass for nine yards in the win at Missouri State.

2022 SEASON (JUNIOR): Played in 13 of 15 games...Made one tackle on kickoff coverage in the NCAA semifinal victory over Incarnate Word.

2021 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Played in 14 of 15 games on special teams...Started one game at wide receiver against East Tennessee State in the NCAA quarterfinals...Made his only reception of the year against ETSU, a 4-yard completion...Finished the year with four tackles on kickoff coverage.

2020-21 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Played on special teams in all nine games during the spring season.

2019 SEASON (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season as a redshirt in the Bison program...Did not participate in any contests.

PERSONAL: 2019 graduate of Highland Park High School...Three-year starter for coach David Lindquist...Team captain...Illinois Shrine Game selection...First-team all-area and all-conference...Had 860 receiving yards and seven touchdowns his senior year...Part of a conference championship team as a junior...Career 56 catches for 1,100 yards and 13 TDs...Also had seven interceptions as a defensive back.

PERSONAL: Majoring in communications...Son of Anthony and Josie Volpentesta...Older brother, Cristian, was a cornerback in the University of Wisconsin football program from 2016 to 2019.
