2009 SEASON (JUNIOR): Played in 14 games and hit .313 (5-for-16)...NDSU’s starting left fielder in the second New Jersey Tech game...Hit 3-for-6 with two triples, three RBIs and three runs scored in that contest...Came on as a defensive replacement in the first NJIT game and hit a ninth-inning RBI double in his only at-bat...Scored twice in the second game of the Centenary doubleheader after entering as a pinch-runner in the 11th inning...Drew a walk and scored in the 13th, but NDSU lost 6-5...Made four relief pitching appearances of two innings or less...Struck out three batters twice against Wichita State and UMBC...Lost his only decision of the year at Murray State where he walked the only batter he faced and surrendered runs on a passed ball and wild pitch...JUNIOR COLLEGE: Spent the 2008 season at Pratt Community College in Kansas but missed a majority of the year due to illness...HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated in 2005 from Jefferson High School in Alexandria, Minn...Two-year starting outfielder and pitcher for coach Roger Johnson...Also lettered in football as a defensive end and special-teams player, and was a five-year letterman in nordic skiing...PERSONAL: Son of Patrick and Vanessa Bruggeman of Alexandria, Minn...Has two older sisters, Sabrina and Natasha...Sabrina was on the NDSU women’s golf team for two seasons from 1999 to 2001 and also competed at Newman University in Kansas...Enrolled in university studies.
