Nick Belzer joined the North Dakota State baseball staff as an assistant coach entering the 2026 season.
Prior to NDSU, Belzer coached at the Game Ready Training Center since 2018 and helped develop three MLB draft picks in 2024, who were each selected in the first three rounds. He also spent the summer of 2025 as a pitching coach with the Willmar Stingers in the Northwoods League.
Belzer started his collegiate playing career at DMACC in Boone, Iowa before playing two seasons at Minnesota State from 2017-18. He helped guide the Mavericks to an NSIC Tournament championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2017.
Belzer played for the St. Paul Saints in 2019 and went on to play within the Milwaukee Brewers organization until 2022. He also played with the Kansas City Monarchs in 2022 and in Australia with the Canberra Cavalry in 2022-23. Belzer finished his playing career with the Kane County Cougars in the American Association and was an All-Star pitcher in 2024.
Belzer is a native of Bondurant, Iowa and graduated from Minnesota State in 2018.
