2008 SEASON (SENIOR): Started 12 games and made a relief appearance with a 3-5 record and 5.24 ERA...Struck out 66 batters in 80.2 innings, while throwing three complete games...Twice struck out a season-high nine batters against IPFW (4/18) and South Dakota State (5/17)...Tossed eight innings and struck out four in a 9-4 victory over Minnesota (5/7)...Set school records for career games started (45) and innings pitched (287.0)...Ranks second in school history with 234 career strikeouts...Named to Summit League Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll...Selected to Summit League Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence... 2007 SEASON (JUNIOR): Started 12 games and made three relief appearances with a 6-6 record and 3.89 ERA...Struck out 68 batters in 83 1/3 innings while holding opponents to a .264 batting average...Fanned a career-high 14 batters in the 3-2 win over Mary, including the first four and six of seven to start the game...Pitched a complete-game 8-2 win at Texas-Pan American (3/30) to snap NDSU’s 11-game losing streak...Both runs were unearned and he struck out six...Named to the College Baseball Foundation’s National Honor Roll for his performance...Picked off seven runners during the year...Errorless in 32 chances, including six assists in one game at Creighton (3/16)...Repeat selection to the Division I independent all-academic team...2006 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Set school single-season records for starts (14) and innings pitched (90.1) while making 17 appearances...Pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings of relief with five strikeouts for his first win of the season at Centenary...His second victory was a gutty 138-pitch outing on three days of rest, working into the ninth inning for a 7-3 upset of Minnesota...Earned independent Pitcher of the Week honors and was named to the College Baseball Foundation’s National Honor Roll for his performance...Ranked among the independent leaders in strikeouts per game most of the season...Fanned a career-high nine batters in a loss at South Dakota State, and followed that with eight K’s in a loss at Valparaiso...Earned a win against IPFW in the independent tournament to finish the year 3-10 with a 6.68 ERA...Independent all-academic team....2005 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Made seven starts and 13 appearances, finishing with a 1-5 record...Winning pitcher with two innings of work in a 22-4 rout of Wisconsin-Superior (4/6)...Season-high four strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings out of the bullpen at Northern Iowa (4/24)...Threw three innings of one-hit ball in relief against Minnesota (4/26)...HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated in 2004 from North High School in Fargo...Three-year letterwinner and two-year starter for coach Jeff Fiechtner...Team MVP and North Dakota Senior Player of the Year in 2004...Set school season records for strikeouts (98), appearances (14), saves (6), innings pitched (60) and wins (9)...Set school career records for strikeouts (196), appearances (41), saves (11), innings pitched (148) and wins (19)...Played his Legion baseball for Fargo Post 2 and coach Bill Ibach, a former NDSU pitcher and coach...Pitched Fargo to a state championship in 2005...Earned the state tourney MVP award...Also a two-year letterman and MVP of the North basketball team...PERSONAL: Played professionally with Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks and River City Rascals for seven years...Retired in 2014 as the all-time wins leader for the RedHawks with 46...Also set franchise records with the RedHawks for games started (102), innings pitched (648.1) and strikeouts (407)...Majoring in accountancy...Grandfather and both parents attended NDSU...Son of Ken and Deb Laber of Fargo...Father works for NDSU Facilities Management.
