2008 SEASON (JUNIOR): Made 24 of his 29 starts in right field...Hit .212 with five doubles and eight RBIs in 37 games...Four multi-hit games including a 3-for-5 day in the second game of a doubleheader at Western Illinois (5/10)...2007 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Started 34 of 39 games played...Fifth leading hitter for the Bison with a .273 average in 132 at-bats...Hit five doubles and two triples...Continued his strong outfield play with only one error in 61 chances (.984)...Hit 7-for-15 in the four-game home series with Valparaiso...Hit a two-out triple and finished 3-for-6 as the Bison nearly rallied from nine runs down in an 11-10 loss to Minnesota (5/15)...2006 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Made 46 starts in 48 games played as a rookie...NDSU’s fourth leading hitter (.293) and was third on the team in slugging (.401)...Batting average climbed as high as .323 during a five-game hitting streak in early April...Had 15 multi-hit games, including 2-for-4 with two RBIs in a victory at Iowa, and 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored at Kansas State...Had a season-high six-game hitting streak in early May, including a 2-for-3 game with two doubles vs. Creighton...His grand slam in a 2-for-4 effort vs. South Dakota State helped the Bison to a doubleheader sweep in two 1-run games...Errorless in 84 defensive chances, including one outfield assist....HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated in 2005 from Mahtomedi High School...Two-year starter and all-conference selection at shortstop for coach John Hardgrove...Saw action in the outfield as a sophomore...Played three years for the Kramer Berg Legion club and coach Shawn LaPlant...Also a three-year letterman in basketball and an honorable mention all-state soccer player...PERSONAL: Majoring in sports and urban turfgrass management...Worked on the grounds crew at Tanners Brook Golf Club in Forest Lake, Minn., last summer...Born June 29, 1987...Son of John and Patricia Otto of Stillwater, Minn...Family includes a younger sister, Julia.
