Bryan Shepherd joined the North Dakota State University football staff as defensive assistant in 2016 and was promoted to a full-time position as cornerbacks coach in February 2017.
During his first season on the Bison coaching staff in 2016, Shepherd assisted with the cornerbacks and safeties, and coordinated scout team offense and special teams. Â
Shepherd was a defensive back for NDSU's first three national championship teams from 2011 to 2013. Â He went on to play with the Washington Redskins in the 2014 presesason as an undrafted rookie free agent and also spent time with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League in 2015.
A native of Olathe, Kan., he spent two years at Nebraska-Omaha before transferring to NDSU, where he earned a bachelor's degree in university studies in 2015.
