Made all 44 consecutive starts at free safety over his final three seasons...Two-time FCS All-America first team pick by the American Football Coaches Association...Tied for second in NDSU history with 16 career interceptions and finished fifth with 42 career passes defended...Part of five Missouri Valley Football Conference championship teams and four NCAA national championships.

2017 SEASON (SENIOR): Repeat selection to the AFCA All-America first team and the HERO Sports FCS All-America second team...Also named to the Walter Camp All-America first team and Phil Steele All-America third team...All-Missouri Valley Football Conference first team defensive back for the second straight season...Started all 15 games at free safety...Led the MVFC and ranked fifth in the FCS with six interceptions...Returned his only career pick-six 23 yards for a touchdown against Robert Morris...Had a 60-yard INT return in the national semifinal win over Sam Houston State...Also had five pass breakups on the season...Finished sixth on the team with 50 total tackles.

2016 SEASON (JUNIOR): Voted to the AFCA All-America first team and the STATS and HERO Sports FCS All-America second teams...All-MVFC first team...Started all 14 games at free safety...Made 53 tackles including 35 solo stops...Led the Missouri Valley Football Conference with six interceptions and was second with 13 pass breakups...Made his first pick on the second play of overtime in the win over Eastern Washington...Named MVFC Defensive Player of the Week after making two interceptions, one breakup and four tackles in the win at Northern Iowa...Career-high nine tackles in the home win over Youngstown State.

2015 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Started all 15 games at free safety...Made 52 tackles including 35 solo stops...Ranked fourth in the Missouri Valley Football Conference with 12 passes defended...Intercepted three passes and had nine pass breakups...Had one interception and three pass breakups in the NCAA second round win over Montana, including a deflection that led to a Bison interception...Also had an interception in the NCAA semifinal win over Richmond and finished the four-game FCS playoff run with 13 tackles...Season-high seven tackles in the opener at Montana and six stops (all solo) at South Dakota State...Named to the MVFC Honor Roll.

2014 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Played in 15 of 16 games...Season-high eight tackles in his only start of the year at Missouri State in place of injured cornerback CJ Smith...Regular part of the defensive backfield in nickel situations...Made 42 tackles and had five pass breakups...First collegiate interception in the FCS second round playoff game sealed a 27-24 comeback win over South Dakota State...Had a forced fumble against Incarnate Word.

2013 SEASON (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season as a redshirt in the Bison program.

HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year starter at defensive back for Lakeland High School and head coach Bill Castle...Finished with 70 tackles, 10 pass breakups and four interceptions in helping Lakeland to 9-2 record as a senior...Played on defense that allowed 7.4 points per game in 2012...Selected to play in Central Florida All-Star East vs. West game...Finished career with 160 tackles and six interceptions.

PERSONAL: Graduated from NDSU in December 2017 with a bachelor's degree in philosophy...Son of Leo and Fel Dempsey.
