    Volunteer Assistant
Maddie Van Beek has served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Bison distance runners since concluding her career as an athlete at NDSU in 2015.

Van Beek earned first-team All-America honors in the 3,000m steeplechase as a senior in 2015, finishing 8th in the event at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. 

Van Beek was named the Summit League Track MVP three times in her decorated career -- the 2014 indoor season, the 2015 indoor season, and the 2015 outdoor season. 

Academically, Van Beek was voted a first-team Academic All-American with a 4.0 cumulative GPA as a double major in English and English education. She was also named the Summit League Scholar-Athlete of the Year across all sports, and was chosen as NDSU's nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year in 2015. 

Van Beek continues to rank among NDSU's all-time Top 5 in the mile, 3000m, 5000m, and distance medley relay indoors, as well as the 1500m, 5000m, and 3000m steeplechase outdoors.

She continues to compete professionally, earning numerous Top 10 finishes in USATF Championship events ranging from one mile to 20km.
