Travis Fitzke

One of the most accomplished mid-distance and distance runners in North Dakota State history, Travis Fitzke will join the Bison coaching staff as a volunteer assistant for the 2013-14 season.

Fitzke completed his collegiate eligibility in the spring of 2013 as the NDSU school record holder in the 1,500m (3:42.32), indoor mile (4:03.35) and indoor 3,000m (8:08.67). The Pierre, S.D., native also anchored the fastest indoor and outdoor distance medley relay teams in NDSU history and ranks among the school's all-time top 10 in the indoor and outdoor 800m and 5,000m.

Fitzke was the Summit League Outdoor Championship Track MVP in 2013 after scoring 28 points on the meet's final day with titles in the 800m and 1500m and a runner-up finish in the 5,000m. He was also a first-team All-Summit League performer in cross country in 2011.

As a prep, Fitzke was a cross country All-American and multiple time state champion in track & field and cross country at T.F. Riggs High School in Pierre, S.D.
