2024 SEASON (JUNIOR): Appeared in 16 games out of the bullpen…Posted a 2-2 overall record…Totaled 22 strikeouts over 43.2 innings…Earned his first win as a Bison with one strikeout at Omaha on March 16…Fired a season-high five strikeouts over 4.2 innings against St. Thomas on May 3.

PRIOR TO NDSU: Made 13 appearances with 10 starts in the 2023 season at Chandler-Gilbert Community College…Totaled 38 strikeouts over 63.1 innings…Notched a 5-3 overall record on the hill…Began his career at Utah Valley in 2022…Made 10 appearances in his freshman season…Totaled 15 strikeouts over 14.0 innings…Made his collegiate debut at Texas State throwing 2.0 shutout inning with two strikeouts on Feb. 19, 2022.

HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year varsity letter winner at Coeur d'Alene High School…three-time Inland Empire All-League Pitcher and Outfielder selection from 2019-21…Helped his team win the Inland Empire League Championship in 2021…Also played basketball and football…Was named the Male Athlete of the Year in 2020-21.

PERSONAL: Son of Rachel and Erik Karns…Rachel ran cross country, while Erik played baseball at Whitworth…Has one sister, Julia, and one brother, Andrew…Andrew plays baseball at Chaminade University of Honolulu.
