The 2011-12 Season: While 2012 ended on a sour note with knee injury in final regular season game, Van Kirk still landed spot on the Summit League's All-Newcomer team ... Started in 22 of 28 games played ... Averaged 8.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1 steal over 27 minutes played per game ... Connected on 36.8 percenter from the field including 24.3 percent from the three-point line ... Made 82.9 percent from the foul line ... Reached double-figures in scoring nine times including a season-high 24 points in the win over IPFW (12-29-11) ... Led the Bison in scoring five times and rebounding once ... Made 12 of 13 free throw attempts vs. IPFW and added season best seven rebounds ... Came up with a season-high four steals in the first meeting with Oral Roberts (1-19-12) and handed out a season best nine assists in the second vs. ORU (2-4-12) ... Led The Summit League in free throw shooting (.886) and ranked 9th in assists (2.7 apg) ... Named to The Summit League Winter/Spring All-Academic team.

High School Days: A 2011 graduate of Sutton Public High School ... Three-time Tribeland Player of the Year according to the Hastings (Neb.) Tribune for Sutton High School and head coach Andy Gerlecz ... Averaged 16 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals per game in leading Sutton to the state championship game as a senior ... Shot 82 percent from the foul line and 33 percent from the three-point line ... Four-time all-state, academic all-state and all-conference performer ... As a freshman, she led Sutton to the state championship game and was named to the all-tournament team ... The Omaha World Herald and Lincoln Journal Star named Van Kirk to the second team C2 All-State in her sophomore year and to the first team C2 All-State in her junior year ... Played on a pair of Sutton volleyball teams that placed third in the state in 2008 and 2009 ... Presidential Scholar, one of the nation's most prestigious awards given to graduating high school seniors.
