Karli Kopietz is in her fifth season as a full time assistant coach for the Bison women's soccer program.

Kopietz is responsible for training NDSU's goalkeepers and helps assist with all day-to-day aspects within the program. She is also the program's academic liaison. 

Last season, Kopietz helped NDSU freshman goalkeeper Monica Polgar post a 1.27 goals-against average and .731 save percentage to go along with a Summit League-best six shutouts. Polgar was named second team All-Summit League for her performance between the posts. 

She trained two-time Summit League Goalkeeper of the Year Sierra Bonham. 
 
A Champlin, Minn., native, Kopietz served as a volunteer assistant for NDSU in 2012. From 2012-13, she also instructed the goalkeepers for the Tri-City Soccer Club and was the head coach of the club's U17 and U15 girls team.
 
Kopietz holds a United Soccer Coaches (formerly the NSCAA) National Diploma, USSF C-License, and Level three goalkeeping certification from the United Soccer Coaches, as well as a goalkeeping diploma certification. 
 
Kopietz was goalkeeper for NDSU in 2005 after transferring from the University of Minnesota. She was named the 2005 Division I Independent Defensive Player of the Year and is the NDSU career leader with a goals against average of 0.84.

As a freshman in 2002, Kopietz earned the Most Valuable Defensive Player distinction for Minnesota and set the freshman record for saves in a season with 92.

Kopietz graduated from NDSU with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a minor in sociology.
