2007-08 SEASON

Indoor (Junior): Won the shot put at the adidas Classic with a throw of 46-3 1/4...Set a personal best of 47-1 in the shot put at the Bison Classic in a second place finish...Came in third in the shot put and eighth in the weight throw at the Summit League Championships.

Outdoor (Junior): Set a personal best of 159-8 in the hammer throw at the Bison Open in a third place finish and tenth on the all-time performance list...Finished third in the shot put at the Summit League Championships with a 46-7 1/2 toss which puts her in eighth on the all-time performance list.

2006-07 SEASON

Indoor (Sophomore): Won the Bison Open in the weight throw with a throw of 51-0 3/4 which was also her personal best...Set a personal best in both the shot put and the weight throw at the Bison Classic with a throws of 45-8 and 52-10, respectively.

Outdoor (Sophomore): Won the Ron Masanz Invitational in the discus with a huge personal best of 148-1, which places her fifth on NDSU’s all-time outdoor list in that event... Reached a personal best in the hammer throw at the Bison Classic with a throw of 156-4 for third place... Helped the Bison claim the Division I Independent Championship by placing fourth in the hammer and fifth in both the shot put and the discus.

2005-06 SEASON

Indoor (Freshman): Opened her NDSU career with a runner-up finish in the shot at the Bison Open on Jan. 13... Took two titles in that event during the season, the first at the Bison Classic and the second at the Dakota Duals... Her winning toss at the Bison Classic set a season best at 45-5... Placed third in the Dakota Duals with a 49-9 in the weight throw.

Outdoor (Freshman): Finished her rookie campaign in NDSU’s all-time top 10 in both the shot put and the discus... Threw 45-5 3/4 in the shot at Miami’s Hurricane Invitational for ninth all-time and a 139-7 in the discus at the Division I independent championships for tenth all-time... Placed in the top four in three throwing events at the DI independents... Had a long of 149-6 in the hammer at the Ron Masanz Invite.

2004-05 SEASON: Redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: Three-time conference shot put champion while competing for Irondale (Minn.) High School... Improved to a third-place state finish her senior year, after a fourth-place performance as a junior... Had a personal best of 43-9 in the shot put and a 136-5 toss in the discus... Also lettered in volleyball and basketball all four years... Captain of the basketball squad her final two... Basketball MVP in 2002... Winner of the Athena Award, given annually to an outstanding St. Paul area student-athlete.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Mary and Darwin Benz... Has one younger brother, Derrick... Majoring in psychology with a minor in business.
