    Volunteer Assistant
Rob Gritzer joined the North Dakota State men’s and women’s track & field programs in August 2022 as a volunteer coach for multiple event groups.
 
Gritzer came to NDSU after assisting with the track & field program at IMG Academy from 2020-2022. While at IMG Academy, Gritzer helped 13 individual athletes attain All-American status across 20 events in addition to six relay teams also attaining this status. During the 2021-2022 season, 28 of 35 eligible seniors and post-graduate athletes were offered scholarships at NCAA D-I programs.
  
Gritzer also is the founder of the track & field club, New Level Sprinting. In the inaugural year of the club, New Level Sprinting quickly rose among the ranks of the best clubs in the country with strong performances at the AAU Junior Olympics.
 
Prior to this, Gritzer began his coaching career at his alma mater, Eugene Ashley High School in North Carolina.  
 
Gritzer competed in track & field at Eastern University from 2016-19 and Cardiff Metropolitan University from 2020-22, where he was a three-time All-MAC athlete and trained with some of the premier Welsh 400m/400mH runners. Gritzer was a part of the inaugural recruiting class at Eastern University, which quickly rose to prominence in the NCAA D-III world by finishing second in the Middle Atlantic Conference in 2019 and being ranked as a Top 25 program. 
 
A native of Wilmington, N.C., Gritzer earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Eastern University in 2020 and a master’s degree in sport psychology from Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2022.
