Border States congratulates Jake Malec, one of this week's Border States Electric Student-Athletes of the Week.
Malec, a junior outfielder from Proctor, Minn., has a 3.355 GPA in exercise science. He went 2-for-3 with a run batted in the NDSU baseball team's 3-2 victory over South Dakota State on May 16. Malec finished the season with a .263 batting average, one home run, 24 RBIs, and led the team with 10 multi-hit games and 11 stolen bases in 13 attempts. He started 42 of 43 games in center field.
