Thundar Appearance Request Form
Thundar loves seeing Bison Nation, and would love to attend your event! Fill out the form below to request an appearance by Thundar.
HOW TO BOOK THUNDAR FOR YOUR NEXT EVENT:
Thundar may be available to appear at your next event. Please complete and submit the Thundar Appearance Request Form at LEAST 2 WEEKS, but no more than 3 months in advance. Forms that are completed outside this window are subject to dismissal. Thundar is extremely busy at the beginning of his semesters. Athletic and University requests will receive priority during these times. We will do our best, but may be unable to complete requests during exam weeks, during football weekends, the summer, and scheduled student breaks. Since our Mascots are students, they are typically more available in the evenings and on weekends. If Thundar is available to attend an off-campus event, he will need an adult (18 years old or older) to serve as full-time escort who can ensure that he has the following items:
- A parking spot at the venue
- A private place to change (not a public restroom)
- Drinking Water which is available at all times
- A reminder when their appearance time is over (Thundar cannot wear a watch and clients will be responsible to pay any late charges).
- A 15 minute break halfway through his appearance with water
For off-campus appearances, a site rep will be required to provide all of these items. We will do our best to provide a handler at all on-campus appearances.
Rates and Fees:
University departments and organizations = $50 per hour + $25 for the mascot
External & private events (weddings, corporate events, birthdays, etc) = $75 per hour + $25 for the mascot
By default, appearance durations will be one hour. TWO HOURS is the maximum length of time Thundar will perform at your event. For any events more than one hour away from Fargo, Thundar's appearance is required to be two hours.
You will be charged for the hour(s) at the applicable rate. Rates cannot be pro-rated. You will be charged a $50 late fee and $50 for every 15 minutes you keep Thundar past his scheduled appearance time.
There will be a travel charge of $0.60 per mile for any event that more than 30 miles round trip. For the safety of our mascots, we require lodging for our mascots if the event/venue is more than 2.5 hours away, or if the event starts or ends at a time that would prevent a safe travel. You as the event holder, are responsible for the booking and lodging cost associated with the rental of Thundar.
Thundar, the mascot for North Dakota State University athletics, is property of North Dakota State University and a representative of the university. Thundar reserves the right to walk away from any event that he deems unsafe, harmful, inappropriate or not in accordance with the North Dakota State University image. Use of North Dakota State University name, logos, and trademark and/or any advertising that implies the support or sponsorship of North Dakota State University or North Dakota State Athletics must be approved in writing by North Dakota State University. Thundar shall not be permitted to appear at events that may be reasonably considered as advancing a political agenda, religion, personal business, or commercial interests.
