The Harlon Hill Trophy winner in 1990 as the nation’s best Division II football player, he helped lead NDSU to national championships in 1988 and 1990, and was a member of the 1986 title team...NDSU won North Central Conference crowns those same three years...First team All-American by the Associated Press and Kodak in 1990...Two-time All-North Central Conference first team and was the NCC’s Offensive MVP in 1990...Graduated as the leading rusher at NDSU with 3,313 yards and 53 touchdowns...Also completed 115 of 200 passes for 1,889 yards and 17 TDs...Was only the third quarterback in NCAA history (all divisions) at his time to rush for over 3,000 career yards...The first NDSU thousand-yard rusher in consecutive seasons (1988-89), he had nineteen 100-yard games...Began coaching football as a student assistant at NDSU in the spring of 1990 and went on to assistant coaching jobs at Edina (1992-93), Minneapolis North (1993-95) and Roseville (1996-00) before taking over as head football coach and physical education teacher at Roseville in 2001.
