World class track and field competitor in the discus throw and shot put...Competed at the national and international levels in the discus after leaving college...Participated in the 1992, 1996 and 2000 Olympic Trials...Placed fourth at the 1998 Goodwill Games...Highest finish was sixth in qualifying in the discus at the 2000 Olympic Trials with a throw of 191 feet, 6 inches...Finished 16th in qualifying at the 1996 World Championships...Won the 1995 USA Outdoors with a season-best effort of 205-4 and was ranked No. 1 in the U.S. by Track and Field News...Ranked in the Top 10 eight times from 1991-2000...Had eight Top 10 finishes at the Olympic Trials or USA Outdoor...Two-time NCAA All-American in track and field, and two-time North Central Conference champion in the shot put under the direction of NDSU head coach Jerry Gores...Played power forward in basketball for coach Amy Ruley...NDSU won two NCC basketball championships and appeared in the NCAA playoffs all four years, including second- and third-place finishes...All-tournament pick at the 1988 NCAA regional...Graduated in 1989 with a degree in electrical engineering...Lost 80 percent of her hearing after a bout with meningitis before she was a year old.
