An all-state performer in volleyball and basketball at Detroit Lakes High School in Minnesota, she was part of the school’s inaugural hall of fame class in 2008....Played middle hitter for the Bison volleyball team from 1992 to 1995, helping NDSU advance to three NCAA tournaments including the national quarterfinals in 1992...Part of two North Central Conference championships...1995 AVCA All-Region first team...Three-time All-North Central Conference (1993, 1994, 1995)...Two-time AVCA National Player of the Week in 1993 and 1995...Led NDSU in hitting percentage all four seasons including a career-best .368 with 472 kills in 1995...Topped the Bison in total blocks three times (1993, 1994, 1995) including a career-best 121 as a junior...Led NDSU in kills in 1994 and 1995...Ranks seventh in school history with 1,523 kills in 134 matches and 481 sets played...On the NDSU career charts, ranks fourth with a .327 attack percentage, fifth with 460 total blocks and 3.94 points per set, seventh with 3.17 kills per set, eighth with 1,894.5 points, and 10th with 0.96 blocks per set...A graduate of the NDSU nursing program, she was the volleyball program’s first Academic All-American, earning back-to-back honors on the second team in 1994 and first team in 1995...Academic All-NCC three times from 1993 to 1995...Married to Mike Gunderson, a former Bison baseball player.
