
Six To Be Inducted Into Bison Athletic Hall of Fame: Stratton, Schloss, Nielsen, Smykowski, Kremer and Regnier

The newest members of the Hall are football All-American linebacker Mike Stratton, women's track & field All-America Lora Jean (Schloss) Bodin, football All-American Paul W. Nielsen, women's basketball All-American Pat "Smykowski" Jacobson, women's basketball All-American Kristi Kremer Clarkowski, and men's basketball standout Joe Regnier.
The announcement was made by Hall of Fame committee chairman Lee Petersen.
The induction will take place at the Holiday Inn in Fargo. Lunch will begin at 11 a.m. with the induction ceremonies slated to start at 11:30 a.m. Television personality Dana Mogck will serve as the Master of Ceremonies with radio broadcast Voice-of-the-Bison Scott Miller conducting the inductions.
The group will also be recognized at the homecoming football game on October 16th between NDSU and Southern Utah.

MIKE STRATTON, football nose guard, 1980-83
?Hard-hitting nose guard for Bison Hall of Fame coach Don Morton during NDSU's resurgence in the early 1980s ... First team All-NCC in 1982 & 1983 ... Second team All-America in 1983 ... Honorable Mention All-America in 1982 ... Led the Bison in QB sacks with 13 in 1981 and 11 in 1982 ... Third all-time in sacks with 29 ... Set NDSU 's single-season record with five forced fumbles ... 1983 North Central Conference Most Valuable Defensive Lineman ... Played on the 1983 national title team ... Had an interception as the Bison defeated Central State of Ohio 41-21 in the 1983 Palm Bowl ... Played on three NCC championship teams (1981-82-83) ... Had a tryout with the Minnesota Vikings ... Competed in track & field at NDSU for Don Larson, breaking both the school's shot put and discus records ... The discus mark of 175' 9" still stands today ... LORA JEAN (SCHLOSS) BODIN, women's track & field multi-events, 1985-88 ?Versatile track & field performer for the Bison ... Five-time NCAA All-American, including a pair of national runner-up finishes in the high jump in 1985 & 1987 ... 1987 North Central Conference Indoor Female Track & Field Athlete of the Meet ... 10-time NCC champion ... Member of four NCC indoor (1985-86-87-88) and three NCC outdoor (1985-86-87) championship teams during career ... Coached by Sue Patterson and Jerry Gores ... Four-time NCC indoor champion in high jump (1985-86-87-88), and won league indoor long jump in 1987 ... Three-time NCC outdoor champion in high jump in 1985-87-88 ...
