Second-Half Spurt Sends UMKC Past North Dakota State

KANSAS CITY, Mo.--Carlton Aaron recorded his fourth straight double-double to lead UMKC to an 80-67 men's basketball win over North Dakota State on Monday, Dec. 10, before a crowd of 1,322 at Municipal Auditorium.

Aaron, a 6-foot-10, 322-pound center, scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the Mid-Continent Conference-leading Kangaroos (4-7) won for the fourth straight outing.

Myron Green's career-high 27 points led all scorers.  Green was 11-for-21 from the floor and 4 of 8 at the foul line.  He grabbed four rebounds and made three assists and three steals for the Bison (5-10), who have lost six of their last seven games.

Brandon Smith scored 13 points in his second collegiate start and Phil Hahn came off the Bison bench to score 12 points.  Hahn was the Herd's leading rebounder with five boards.

The Bison were down 34-32 at halftime and were within two again at 53-51 with 8:34 to play before the Kangaroos went on a 13-2 run to put the game away.  NDSU committed six turnovers in the stretch.

UMKC outrebounded North Dakota State 40-26.

The Bison are scheduled to play at South Dakota State on Saturday, Dec. 15.  Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Frost Arena in Brookings.
