
Six Players in Double-Figures as North Dakota State Women Drive to Century City

Six players scored in double-figures led by Leah Klabo's game-high 17 points as North Dakota State University cruised to "Century City" in a 104-42 win over Dakota Wesleyan University in a non-conference women's basketball game played Tuesday, Jan. 18, before a crowd of 762 at the Bison Sports Arena.
North Dakota State (17-0) extended its winning streak to 17 games in reaching 100 points for the 41st time in NDSU women's basketball history and the first since Jan. 3, 2004, when the Bison defeated Wingate (N.C.) 104-85. North Dakota State is scheduled to play at South Dakota State (13-5) at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, in Brookings. The Jackrabbits lost 86-52 at Wisconsin-Green Bay on Tuesday night.
Dakota Wesleyan (4-18) led briefly at 3-2, but North Dakota State gradually pulled away by shooting a blistering 67.7 percent from the field in the first half. The Bison went on to shoot a season-best 62.3 percent for the game compared to 28 percent for the Tigers of the Great Plains Athletic Conference. NDSU held a 44-21 advantage in rebounds and committed 13 turnovers compared to 26 for DWU.
Lacey Johnson and Danni Heintzelman each tallied 15 points for North Dakota State, while Brandee Gibbs netted 14 points, Katie Lorenz dropped in 13 and Lisa Bue added 11 points. Heintzelman, Gibbs and Bue helped the Bison match a season-high 54 points contributed by the bench this season. Katie Dahlen and Gibbs both handed out a career-high five assists.
Jennifer Pommer led Dakota Wesleyan with 10 points, while Kelly Haiar scored eight and Tacey Nielsen added seven points.
