
Streak at 19 as Klabo, North Dakota State Women Sting the Yellowjackets 82-56

Six-foot-four center Leah Klabo scored 26 points to lead a group of four players in double-figures as the North Dakota State University women's basketball team defeated visiting Montana State University-Billings 82-56 on Saturday, January 29, before a crowd of 1,732 at the Bison Sports Arena.
North Dakota State remains undefeated at 19-0 this season and is scheduled to play Minnesota-Crookston (12-6) at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, in Crookston. The Bison are scheduled to host Si Tanka-Huron University at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5. Montana State-Billings drops to 14-5.
Klabo, who hit 10-of-15 from the field and all six free throws attempts, helped the Bison to gradually pull away from the Yellowjackets during the contest. The 6-foot-4 senior scored 20+ points for the third time this season.
Katie Lorenz directed the North Dakota State offense with nine assists and tallied 15 points. Amanda Krenz and Brandee Gibbs each finished with 10 points. Kayla Dahlen tied a career-high with seven rebounds, while Lacey Johnson finished with nine points, six rebounds, three blocks and three steals.
North Dakota State, which led 39-29 at halftime, shot 46.2 percent (30-65) from the field compared to 33.3 percent (20-60) for Montana State-Billings. NDSU also hit 89.5 percent (17-19) from the foul line The Bison held a 42-37 rebound advantage and also committed nine turnovers compared to 17 miscues for the Yellowjackets.
Tanya Peterson led Montana State Billings with 19 points, while Lisa Jellum netted 16 points including a 4-of-5 showing from the three-point arc. Michelle Lieber pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.
