Box Score ORLANDO, Fla.--Allison Bakke fired a one-hitter and Heather Hyatt went 3-for-4 to lead North Dakota State University to a 6-1 victory over Boston University on Sunday, Feb. 20, to claim the UCF Softball Tournament championship during its first weekend of NCAA Division I competition.
North Dakota State (2-3) is scheduled to play Eastern Illinois University at 3 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Williams Field in Charleston, Ill.
Bakke, a freshman righthander from Anoka, Minn., improved to 2-2 on the season with the win. She struck out five and walked four.
Brittany Detwiler was tagged with the loss, allowing nine hits, striking out four and walking one. Jennifer Shields had the only hit for the Terriers (2-3), a second inning single.
NDSU outhit the Terriers 12-1 led by Hyatt, who hit .526 (10-19) over the five-game tournament. The senior infielder from Morris, Minn., extended her hitting streak to 11 games. The Bison also received two hits from sophomore outfielder Lynnae Foshag (Missoula, Mont.), junior infielder Meghan Norris (Duluth, Minn.) and Bakke.
