Griffith Resigns as North Dakota State Assistant Baseball Coach; Tweet Returns

FARGO, N.D.--North Dakota State head baseball coach Mitch McLeod today announced the university has accepted the resignation of assistant coach B.J. Griffith, and former Bison assistant Blair Tweet will fill the vacant position on an interim basis for the 2007 season.

Griffith was hired at North Dakota State in September 2005. He resigned after one season to pursue a job opportunity in his home state of Texas.

Tweet was an assistant coach at North Dakota State from 1992-2003. He was a catcher for the Bison from 1988-1991.

Pitching coach Steve Montgomery and student assistant Matthew Erzar round out the Bison staff for 2007.

North Dakota State opens the season with a three-game series Feb. 15-18 at Kansas, the defending Big 12 tournament champion.
